Recent Survey results from HealthWatch Cheshire
Kelsall PPG received a copy of the recent survey results from HealthWatch Cheshire which asked people about their health and wellbeing during the Coronavirus pandemic. We have included a summary of the findings at the base of this page.
These results reinforce the views of Kelsall and district residents that there is a real need for the Kelsall Wellbeing Hub, in order to support our Medical Practice with the many issues that exist in our Community including mental stress and social isolation. This is even more relevant going forward as a result of the impact of the Coronavirus.
What is HealthWatch Cheshire?
HealthWatch Cheshire, consisting of HealthWatch Cheshire East and HealthWatch Cheshire West, is an independent consumer champion for health and care across Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester, forming part of the national network of local HealthWatch across England.
Their role is to ensure that those who run health and care services understand and act on what really matters to local people. HealthWatch Cheshire East and HealthWatch Cheshire West undertake continuous engagement activities with the public to hear about concerns and compliments regarding health and care services.
Asking people about their health and wellbeing during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
The information they gather is then analysed so that they can identify and act upon trends and common themes by presenting their findings to decision makers in order to improve the services people use. They also share people’s views locally with HealthWwatch England who make sure that the government put people at the heart of care nationally.
Since the beginning of May 2020, they have been asking Cheshire residents to complete a survey to tell them about their views and experiences during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic so they can understand what is working well and what could be improved, as well as considering people's mental health and wellbeing during the pandemic.
The results are based upon the 1,121 responses up to Friday 3rd July 2020, of which 551 are from residents of Cheshire East and 571 are from people living in Cheshire West and Chester. This particular report focuses on what people told them about their mental health and wellbeing during this period.
