Wellbeing Hub Manager 

Following on from our successful grant application from The National Lottery Community Fund, we are now seeking to recruit a part time Manager to run the Wellbeing Hub which will be located adjacent to the new Kelsall Medical Centre which is planned to open in May 2022.

In this role you will primarily be responsible for the smooth running of the Wellbeing Hub, located in Kelsall.


You will be involved with engaging, including and increasing our pool of volunteers, reviewing services offered, liaising with providers, the medical centre, users to ensure we continually provide services needed in the community.


Main tasks

Working with volunteers:

  • To manage the café operations to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, including purchasing, accounting, cash handling, staffing and cleaning

  • To identify and organise regular activities and support services to run during and outside of café opening hours, including specific provision for young adults after school and during the holidays

  • To raise the profile of the Hub as a location for the delivery of activities supportive of health and wellbeing and thereby increase demand for third party bookings.

Working with volunteers and trustees:

  • Provide regular reporting data to support output data required by organisations that have invested in the project

  • Find ways of maximising revenue from sources other than Hub users.

  • To develop and comply with a set of policies governing Hub operations, particularly Health and Safety, and Safeguarding in accordance with the National Lottery Community Fund’s policy relating to Safeguarding Children and Adults at Risk.

Key Aims

  1. Dealing with people, so that we can have a happy and productive set of volunteers and an environment in the Hub in which vulnerable people can feel welcome and comfortable.

  2. Day to day administration, so that we have volunteer rotas that work, we have an efficient room booking system, we don’t run out of merchandise and we manage cash reliably.

  3. Correctly utilise volunteers without losing control of performance

Key Experience

  1. Managing teams of people, would be an advantage to have experience with volunteer resourcing

  2. Front of house in hospitality, good communicator

  3. Community engagement and development

  4. Autonomy and accountable, with proven ability to take decisions


25 hours per work, to be worked flexibly to suit the needs of the post holder but needs to ensure the Hub is operational throughout the day and evenings, as required by the demands of the community. Salary up to £18,600 p.a.
