Getting Your Covid-19 Vaccination
The Rural Alliance Primary Care Network in West Cheshire (which includes the Kelsall Medical Centre) is working together to deliver the Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine to our patients - click here for more information.
Our vaccination programme started in early January 2021 - click here for video of feedback from first recipients.
You may have received a letter advising you that you can book your COVIS-19 vaccination online or via 119. This would be for an appointment at a regional ‘mass’ vaccination site.
Please note that this is OPTIONAL and as a patient of a Rural Alliance GP Practice, your current nearest vaccination site is Cheshire View, Plough Lane, Christleton, Chester, CH3 7PT.
You cannot book your appointment at the Rural Alliance vaccination site at Cheshire View online or via 119.
However, please be assured that your GP Practice will contact you regardless to make your vaccination appointment. All vaccinations are by appointment only.
We are working our way through the age groups as per the NHS guidance and will vaccinate you as soon as we are able, including if you are a household patient.
The NHS is planning to vaccinate everyone in the top four priority groups by mid-February 2021 – including older care home residents and staff, everyone aged over 70, all frontline NHS and care staff and all those who are clinically extremely vulnerable.
When it is your turn to book your vaccination, you will need to provide:
Your name and date of birth
Your NHS number (which will be provided in your invitation letter)
GPs and other practice staff are working hard to vaccinate as many people in this group as quickly as possible and, during January and February 2021, many more people will be invited in. This is only the start of the vaccination programme and it will take some time to work through everyone.
Please do not attend any vaccination site seeking a vaccination without an appointment and do not contact your local hospital, GP practice or council to seek a COVID-19 vaccine appointment – appointments cannot be made in this way.
The NHS is currently being inundated with wide-ranging enquiries about the COVID-19 vaccine. While we understand that people are anxious to ensure that they and their loved ones are protected as quickly as possible, the number of enquiries currently being received is in danger of taking valuable resource away from delivery of the programme.
